Playing with Total Immersion Swimming

Posted by IT Pilgrim on August 18, 2008

The other day I ran across Tim Ferriss’ article on Total Immersion Swimming. It was a bit of a riot because I had just requested the Freestyle DVD from Netflix the day before, and I got an IUO for a different DVD for my birrthday (last Sunday). It made me feel much better that I am not the only one in the world who swims about a centimeter an hour. I did not know why, I just knew I had a problem.

I am a child of the “just throw them in” generation, which is how I learned, just like I learned to ride horses (by falling off) its the same concept. Nothing teaches you faster than a sore bum! So this week, I am trying out some of the stuff from the dvds. Haven’t gotten the book yet, since my rural location makes library usage next to useless, maybe it will show up on paperbackswap. In the comments, the author of TI swimming also posted a link to the free PDf he has available, so I have linked it here.

As a side note, anyone else always get IOU s for birthday/christmas presents?
